  Dallas Mentors' & subMentors' Program Presents: DM TRAINING!!! 9 - 5
Description:
We would like to invite all people interested in expanding their safety skills to attend the upcoming Certified DM Training program being held in Dallas. This program is open to all interested parties regardless of club or group affiliation. If you are interested in
expanding your knowledge of BDSM First Aid and serving your community as a qualified Dungeon Monitor, this two day training session is for you.

Here are the details: Friday, March 6 & Saturday, March 7, 9 am – 5 pm… This program is a two (2) days training program.
COST:
(A) DM and BDSM First Aid Training sessions – free
(B) American Heart Association CPR Training Fee is passed on to you.
Also, if you are already CPR Certified you may skip the CPR training
session.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Dungeon Monitor's position goes beyond simply watching players. The Dungeon Monitor must posses a wide range of skills that include interpersonal and group communication skills, knowledge of conflict resolution, an understanding of playroom etiquette and equipment safety, the ability to work with security issues and have the ability to be the first contact with EMS and law enforcement officials. The DM Certification program is designed for those who volunteer for these tasks and provides them with core skills. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of all course modules.

DAY 1:

MORNING SESSION:
DM Mindset and Core Responsibilities - This course provides the basic knowledge for handling DM situations. Topics include the DM mindset, floor management,
communication strategies between DMs, and team work in crisis situation. Also includes suggested polices for handling security issues, protecting member safety, solutions for inordinate members and working with surprise visits from law enforcement agencies.

Crisis Intervention in the Dungeon - Often personal conflict surfaces in the dungeon and the DM is called upon to intervene before a situation erupts into disruption or violence. This course introduces the concepts of nonviolent crisis management, how to recognize the "points of departure" as an individual escalates in emotional crisis, and intervention techniques to deescalate personal tension and come to positive resolution.

The WIS System - DMs are required to make judgment calls on other people's play styles and are then often called into question when doing so. This course introduces the WIS system. This system provides the DM with framework to make objective calls and take prudent action. The course observes a wide range of play styles and identifies crisis situations to be aware. Safety equipment usage is also covered.

AFTERNOON SESSION:
Dungeon First Aid - First Responders Strategies and Techniques Common Accidents - This course teaches first aid skill needed to address common accidents that occur in the dungeon. Topics include: care for deep tissue bruises, sprains, abrasions, friction burns, split skin wounds, cuts, and embedded objects. Allergic reactions are covered and the burn types are categorized and addressed. Topic includes how to extinguishing fires with both wet towels and fire extinguisher, care for natural burns (cinnamon, ginger, etc) open flame burns and electric burns.

SingleTail 9pm

Ever wanted to learn how to crack a whip?? Singletail is a group for those who loves whips and wants to learn about the usage of whips and whip safety for indoor play. Come out and learn the different styles of throwing and using the whip, the different types of whips and quality, where to purchase your whip and whip safety. This is for the beginner, novice to seasoned user. Everyone can always learn more and share what they know. Also we may get to hear from the other end of the whip from time to time instead of the cracking of it but the one that it is being caressed and kissed by it.

TNG Munch 7pm
Description:
TNG (The Next Generation) is a safe and comfortable way for BDSMers aged 19-35 to meet other like-minded people, expand their knowledge of BDSM, and just hang out and have fun. All experience levels are welcome. The group goes to area BDSM events, has periodic classes on topics of special interest, and participates in various outreach activities. Their munch starts at 7pm going to 9pm. The recommend donation will be $15 for SLA members and $20 for group members that are non-SLA members. You must be a member of this group to be able to attend this munch. After Munch Showing
The After Munch Showing at 9PM is for SLA members, TNG & SingleTail members and guests. The recommended donation for this event is $15 for SLA members, $20 for non-SLA munch members and $30 for each guest of SLA members. SLA members that will be attending the after munch showing are asked to RSVP this event by sending an email to RSVP@sanctuarylifestyle.com . Be sure to put the event date that you are rsvping for in the subject or the email, include your name, if you are a SLA member or not, and all guests that will be attending with you.
